The Lensic & Round Mountain:
Round Mountain:Beginnings Where the Endings Be
The Lensic and Round Mountain present Round Mountain: Beginnings Where the Endings Be.
This evening of music celebrates the generational continuity of music and the vibrancy and diversity of Santa Fe’s musical offerings. The concert will feature the Santa Fe Youth Philharmonia, students from the Santa Fe University of Art & Design University Chorus and instrumental guests, as well as a small chorus from Turquoise Trail Charter School. Proceeds benefit the Santa Fe Youth Philharmonia and the Steven M. Miller Endowed Scholarship for Music Composition and Sound Design at SFUAD.
Round Mountain tours nationally and features Santa Fe’s own Char and Robby Rothschild. The two blend dusty American grit with a worldly amalgam of global influences and present a singular take on folk music that is both foreign and familiar. Between them they play a dozen instruments throughout their concerts, leading them to be called “the two-man singing folk orchestra.”
Of this performance, Robby says: “We're living in a time that feels like it's on the verge of some huge and unknowable change. We acknowledge this and look to music from all places for sustenance and courage. We stand together with musicians, those who have raised us and those who inspire us with their new ideas and energy.”
