Title

Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library Presents
Calling All Minds: An Evening With Temple Grandin

Description

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 1 at 10 AM.

As one of the first individuals on the autism spectrum to publicly share insights from her personal experience of autism, Temple Grandin presents encouraging and important messages about this disorder and “differently-labelled brains.” Most important is the notion that “rigid academic and social expectations could wind up stifling a mind that, while it might struggle to conjugate a verb, could one day take us to distant stars.” On her Website, Grandin speculates, “What would happen if the autism gene was eliminated from the gene pool? You would have a bunch of people standing around in a cave, chatting and socializing, and not getting anything done.”

Tickets: General Admission $20; preferred seating with pre-show reception $75
